About the Program
What Is an SRPI Ambassador?
SRPI Ambassadors are formally designated undergraduate representatives of the Sentinel Research & Policy Institute. They serve as the Institute’s presence on their home campuses — advancing SRPI’s academic mission, connecting students to national security research and publication opportunities, and representing the values of rigorous, nonpartisan scholarship.
The Ambassador Program is selective and competitive. Ambassadors are drawn primarily from SRPI’s intern cohorts — students who have already demonstrated the research commitment, intellectual discipline, and professional standards the role requires. Direct applications are also welcome from students with strong qualifications and a clear vision for advancing SRPI’s mission at their university.
Ambassadors operate in a non-governmental, academic capacity. All activities rely exclusively on open-source, publicly available information. Ambassadors do not represent the views of any government agency — only their own academic work and SRPI’s nonpartisan mission.
The Ambassador Pathway
The Role
What Ambassadors Do
Represent SRPI on Campus
Serve as SRPI’s official, non-governmental representative at your home university — raising awareness of the Institute’s mission, publications, and programs among students, faculty, and administration.
Recruit & Connect
Identify students who would benefit from SRPI’s research, publication, and chapter programs. Refer prospective contributors, interns, and chapter founders to SRPI leadership. Build relationships with faculty advisors and academic departments.
Contribute to Research & Publications
Continue advancing your own scholarship — contributing articles to the Sentinel Journal or Sentinel Review, participating in SRPI research projects, and representing SRPI’s research standards in your academic work.
Assess & Report
Conduct regular campus assessments — evaluating SRPI’s presence, identifying expansion opportunities, and reporting on events hosted, students referred, and publications produced. Assessments feed SRPI’s chapter expansion strategy.
Advance the Chapter Pipeline
At universities without an established chapter, Ambassadors lay the groundwork for chapter formation — identifying founding officers, prospective faculty advisors, and student organizations that could affiliate with SRPI.
Maintain SRPI Standards
Uphold SRPI’s nonpartisan mission and open-source research discipline in all campus activities. Ambassadors represent SRPI’s values — not any government agency, political party, or employer — in everything they do in this role.

Ambassador → Chapter Pipeline
From Ambassador to Chapter Founder
Ambassadors are SRPI’s primary pipeline for new chapter formation. At universities without an established chapter, strong Ambassadors are well-positioned to identify founding officers, recruit faculty advisors, and apply to establish a formal Sentinel Research Society chapter. The Ambassador Program and Chapter Program are designed to work together — one builds presence, the other formalizes it.
Is There Already a Chapter at Your University?
Start a Chapter Instead
If your university doesn’t yet have a Sentinel Research Society chapter, starting one may be the most impactful way to build SRPI’s presence there. Chapters provide more structure, resources, and official standing than individual ambassador roles. The Chapter Program is open to undergraduate students with three founding members and a faculty advisor.
